• I started to list my dreams and aspirations, but whilst compiling an agenda I found myself getting bogged down in the logistics of how to begin my new life so I thought that it would boost my confidence to list some of  my most outstanding achievements and experiences to date.  I have been lucky enough to have experienced some amazing things and I have seen some awesome sights, some of which can be found below.  I may not have jumped out of an aeroplane or worked abroad (yet), but when I think about some of the worst things that have happened over the last three years and I feel my self esteem flagging, I smile when I remember these things
  • We had tuk tuk races in the streets of Jaipur
  • I threw up on a bus in India
  • Cried at the beauty of the Taj Mahal
  • Swam in an outdoor pool in the snow
  • Stopped a mugger in Barcelona
  • Snorkelled with turtles in the Caribbean
  • Snorkelled in the Red Sea
  • Slept under the stars in the desert at Waid Rum
  • Slept in a dorm in a backpacker’s hostel
  • Skied in Italy, France and Andorra
  • Saw the sunset from the top of Mount Sinai
  • Saw a priest on roller blades at the Vatican City
  • Salsa dancing
  • Have seen the Pyramids at Giza and the Sphinx
  • Pole dancing
  • Played roulette in a casino
  • Shed a few tears at the majesty of Petra
  • Performed the Heimlich manoeuvre
  • Partied on a plane
  • Participated on stage at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival
  • Paddled in the Arabian Sea on Boxing Day
  • Qualified with an Open University degree
  • My children
  • I ride a motorbike
  • Married at 20, divorced at 49
  • Kayaking
  • Internet dating
  • Hot air balloon flight over Cappadocia
  • Had a hammam in Turkey
  • Bought a bangle in the Gold Souk in Manama,Bahrain
  • Galloped on a horse through a sugar cane plantation in the Dominican Republic
  • Waded through floods in Delhi
  • Found my sister
  • Floated in the Dead Sea
  • Elephant ride at the Amber Fort, Jaipur
  • Donated blood
  • Danced ‘till dawn
  • Cycle rickshaw ride in Delhi
  • Cruised the Med for 3 weeks on the world’s third largest cruise liner
  • Chichen Itza
  • Cherry picking in Spain
  • Camping
  • Camel rides at Pushkar and Wadi Rum
  • Belly dancing
  • Behind the scenes tour of Versailles Palace
  • Attempted to smoke a shisha pipe
